Overview

Vanguard of Avias is a single player SRPG focused on character interactions. Communicate with your fellow mercenaries and uncover a centuries-old conspiracy. Will you be able to lead your troops to victory?

Battles are not strictly based on who's physically stronger. Environmental factors also come into play, and knowing the individual strengths and weaknesses of each of your party members will allow you to make informed decisions. It's not always about who's stronger, being smarter than your opponent is just as important.

Of course, interacting with your troops is also important. As you progress down certain relationships, new tools and abilities will be unlocked for your benefit. The benefits are not only for the player character, either. All characters have individual friendships with each other that can be unlocked, allowing for further optimization of the resources the player has available to them.

Story

Born in the cold winds of Wotanheim, a warrior becomes the new leader of Wotanheim's premier mercenary group, Guntram's Mercenaries. The former leader, Guntram himself, has experienced decades of battle and decides to retire after nearly dying for a fourth time in his life, choosing you to be his successor. Although, not everyone is happy with that decision, and numerous members leave after Guntram doubles down on his decision, making the once great mercenary group quite small. Of course, Guntram wouldn't just leave you, so he begins the next chapter of his life serving as your personal mentor. He advises you to take a certain job, which leads to an interaction with a young woman named Katria who is from the Empire of Avias to the south. Seeing as your goals align with her current objectives, she sticks around, leading to uncovering one of the biggest conspiracies the world has ever seen.
